Estonia: vegetable harvest down

For the present it is early to give accurate estimates of vegetable harvest of this year, but they may be lower from the last year’s indices due to bad weather, informed Vjajno Villers, owner of Laheotsa talu and Villeri Koogiviljad, leading producer of vegetables in Estonia. “Harvest is rather small but we have time, noted Villers. If rains take place, year may happen to be of bad harvest. And if the weather improves, crop may be satisfactory.

According to Ville Paka, Director of large vegetable-growing enterprise Kadarbiku talu, to date one can say that the average yield of the main vegetables is down from lat year, reported Postimees.
