Next week Moldova to start mass harvesting of table varieties of grape
Within one week Moldova will start mass harvesting of table varieties of grapes. According to the data of the specialists of agro-industrial agency “Moldova-Vin”, it is planned that in 2008 the gross yield of grapes to exceed 600.000 tonnes from 110.000 ha plantations.
According to the specialists, the Republic has nearly 9.000 ha of vineyards of table varieties, Vinmoldova.md reported. This year yield of table grapes will total nearly 60 c/ha, up 15 c/ha compared to 2007.
“The average yield of technical varieties of grapes will exceed 50 c/ha. We recommended to set the purchasing prices within $0.33-0.42/kg for white varieties and $0.42-0.49/kg for red varieties”, “Moldova-Vin” representatives informed.
Nearly 30.000 tonnes of Moldovan grapes were exported to the traditional consumers - Russia and Belarus. At that, the experts are not ready to inform the prices for shipments as “they are dictated by the market”.
To date, the table varieties “Zhemchug”, “Muskat Yantarniy”, “Ranniy Magarach”, “Cardinal” are sold at $1-2/kg on the markets of Kishinev.
