Grape harvest in Dagestan to be not lower than last year

The farms of Derbentskiy region have already started harvesting of table varieties of grapes. The producers have received a record grape harvest – 40.000 tonnes of valuable product. According to Ali Hasbulatova, the deputy head of MO “Derbentskiy region”, the harvest this year will be quite high.

The grape plantations in the agro-firms “Rukel”, “Schtulskiy”, “Gedzhuh”, “Sheihlyar”, “Sovhoz named after Aliev”, “Muzaim”, “Mitagi” and other are in great condition. Every year these and other farms spend considerable funds for reestablishment of viticulture and expand areas of grape plantations. One hopes that viticulture in this region will rise to the level of the Soviet period and the region will be able to annually realize up to 100.000 tonnes of grapes.

In the end of August, the farms will start mass harvesting of the sunny bunches of grapes and by September 20 they should finish grape harvesting in all farms of the region, RIA “Dagestan” informed.
