Russia: prices for apple up 1.5 times

The prices for apples increased by almost 1.5 times as compared to the indices of 2007, reported the growers of Russia to the specialists of Fruit-Inform project.

As most market participants reported the main reason of high prices is general decrease of yield by 40 %. The other factor that positively influenced price forming is high quality of trade apple in the current season. At the moment sale prices are declared within a range of 0.42- 0.84 euro/kg, during the same period of the last year, prices were declared within a range of 0.28- 0.56 euro/kg.
