Ukraine: producers of apple concentrate rejected apple purchasing
Most producers of apple concentrates rejected purchasing of apples. According to processors, the main reason is decrease of prices for apple concentrate on the international market.
According to data of Fruit-Inform project, in the current season, purchasing prices for industrial apples in Poland are declared within a range of 0.04-0.06 euro/kg, whereas the prices in Ukraine are almost twice up and reached the level of 0.09-0.12 euro/kg. As a result, prices for Ukrainian apple concentrate are declared within a range of 1000 euro/tone, whereas the prices for concentrate from Poland reached the range of 800 – 850 euro/tone. In that way, according to Ukrainian processors, production of apple concentrate becomes an unprofitable business due to low prices for raw material on the domestic market and bearish trends on the international market of finished commodity produce.
