Russia: prices for fresh vegetables increased in October

Rates of general cost growth of conditional food basket decreased from 10 % to 7.5 % as compared to September, but at the same time, the market sees rise in prices for vegetables, reported “Novye izvestiya”.

Thus, in September, prices for tomatoes increased by 1.5 times, for cucumbers – by 123 %. In October, prices for cucumbers increased by 32 %. Rise in prices was recorded also for oranges – by 5 %, onion – 7 %, apples – 8 5, carrot – 11 % and bananas – 20 %.
