Russia: decrease of gross potato harvest expected

During the next 5 years, it is expected that gross potato crop will increase by 8 %, reported Victor Pedenko, specialist of “Fruit-Inform” weekly in his report that was presented during the Third international conference “Fruit & Vegetable Business of Russia – 2008” in Moscow.

Pedenko also noted that during the reporting period, per cent of potato losses during storing and using as forage crops would decrease. Mainly, it was caused by transfer of production to professional producers.
