Tatarstan: gross production of vegetables totaled more that 39.000 tonnes

According to the Ministry of agriculture of the Republic, vegetable harvesting is completed, gross production totaled 39.295 tonnes , up 10.965 tonnes compared to the last year, reported “Tatar-inform”.

1.659 ha of agrarian areas were planted under vegetables, the same index as compared to the last year. Increase of gross production was caused by increase of yield of such agrarian crops as cabbage, carrot and table beet. The yield of cabbage reached 540 c/ha. Production of onion, table beet, carrot and potatoes substantially increased. The average yield of table beet totaled 240 c/ha, of carrot – 300 c/ha, of onion – 180 c/ha. Potato yield reached 230 c/ha.

As representatives of the Ministry reported, prices for vegetables remained the same as compared to the last year due to bumper harvest.
