Russia: subtropical harvest to increase by 40%
According to Aleksey Tereshkin, head of agrarian department of municipal administration, reported, horticultural farms in Sochi plan to harvest more than 200 tonnes of subtropical crops that is up 40%, compared to 2007, reported Interfax-Yug.
As he reported, as of the beginning of December, 160.000 tonnes of fruits were harvested, including 60 tonnes of feijoa and persimmon and 40 tonnes of kiwi. Also Tereshkin noted that in the nearest future, 10 tonnes of lemons and 30 tonnes of tangerines plan to be harvested.
