Ukraine: trade sales on vegetable market remain low

The vegetable market see a bearish trend, reported Ukrainian agrarians. Producers reported about extremely low demand for this produce that is the result of overproduction in this season. Farmers who produce onion and cabbage have the most significant difficulties with sales. This produce is in surplus on the market and the sale rates remain low despite price concessions.

At the moment, selling prices for cabbage are declared within the range of 0.04- 0.08 euro/kg. Some producers are ready to decrease prices to the range of 0.025- 0.031 euro/kg, but in this case customers' activeness remains almost zero.

The same situation is observed on the onion market where the prices vary within a range of 0.04- 0.11 euro/kg. Agrarians who sell carrot and beet also have difficulties with sales. According to the specialists of fruit and vegetable direction Fruit-Inform project , the current situation will be the main reason of farmers' rejects from growing of cabbage, onion and root crops in the new season.
