Ukraine: production of potato by-products decrease

According to data of the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, as of November of the current year, production of potato by-products reduced by 34 %, compared to the same period of the last year. In particular, in November 2008, 999 tonnes of potato by-products were produced in Ukraine (in November 2007 this index totaled 1500 tonnes). Negative production dynamics has been observed since September 2008. As of October, production decrease totaled 28 % (compared to October 2007).

Nevertheless, during 11 months of the current year, production of this produce remains at the level of the last year and totals 22.000 tonnes, mainly thanks to production increase in the first six months.

"Kraft Foods Ukraine" is the main producer of potato processing products, 50 % of the whole production volume falls to the share of this company.
