Ukraine and World Bank will continue cooperation

Within the framework of meeting of Ukrainian government with management of the World Bank, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Agriculture Ivan Kyrylenko has had a talk with the World Bank Country Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova Luca Barbone, press-service of Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has informed.

The major topic of the talk was current state and future prospects for development of joint projects being realised in Ukrainian farming sector. These are, in particular, "The project of issuance of land title certificates in rural areas and development of system of land surveying" and "Project of financing rural development".

Ivan Kyrylrnko has said in discussion that the issue of land reform is the most important and profound tasks for Ukraine.

The aim of the first project is provision of land-tenure regulation works and distribution of state certificates, acknowledging the right of ownership for tracks of land, as well as other priority tasks of institutional development in the sphere of land relationships.

"The project of financing rural development" stipulates formation and development of financial infrastructure and financial services in rural areas and expansion of the long-term financial resources in the banking sphere. For the project to be successfully realised, Ukraine needs to create a corresponding legislative basis and join some international conventions.

In the end of the talk the parties agreed that their cooperation in realisation of agriculture-related projects would be further continued in the nearest time.
