European importers show interest in Ukrainian vegetables

Devaluation of Ukrainian currency and overproduction of vegetable produce in Ukraine leaded to competitiveness increase of Ukrainian vegetables. Should be noted that last year Ukraine had to import such vegetables as carrot, onion, beet and cabbage, but in this season, Ukraine started to export fresh vegetable produce. Among the countries which showed active interest to Ukrainian vegetables, there are Netherlands, Poland and Great Britain. The main reason is low price levels.

Importers pay the greatest interest to Ukrainian onion due extremely low prices. At the moment, prices for onion are declared within a range of 0.04-0.05 euro/kg, compared to prices for Polish onion which reached the range of 0.1-0.12 euro/kg. Thus, supplies from Ukraine to Poland and other European countries on the conditions of observance of high quality.

There is a significant difference between prices for carrot on the markets of Ukraine and Poland. At the moment, wholesale prices for Polish carrot are declared within a range of 0.2-0.3 euro/kg. At the same time, prices for carrot on the Ukrainian market reached the range of 0.05-0.06 euro/kg that is down 5 times, compared to the same prices for Polish produce.
