Ukraine: prices for fruit and vegetable produce increased substantially

According to statistics data, during 2008, fruit and vegetable produce went up in prices on the domestic market of Ukraine. Prices for onion, beet and citrus increased by 57-86 %, for apples - by 39-53 %, for carrot - 30-36 %. During the reporting period, sale volumes of dried fruits reduced by 35 %, citrus - by 23 %. At the same time, sale volumes of fresh cucumbers increased by 7 % and nuts - for 5 %.
