Russia: increase of prices for vegetables
In Russia, during the week, from 22nd of January till 29th of January, rise in prices for fruit and vegetable produce was recorded. According to official data, prices for cucumbers and tomatoes increased by 1.1 % and 4.1 % respectively and reached the level of 1.99 еuro/kg and 2.18 euro/kg. Also, according to data, provided by the leading retail chains, prices for cabbage increased by 6.3 % and totaled 0.18 euro/kg, for lemons and pears - by 3.3 % and 1 % respectively and totaled 1.34 euro/kg and 1.88 euro/kg.
As of the beginning of January, 2008, retail prices for potatoes were declared within a range of 0.19- 0.32 euro/kg, for cabbage - 0.15-0.22 euro/kg, for carrot - 0.21 euro/kg, for onion - 0.21- 0.32 euro/kg, cucumbers - 1.39-2.03 euro/kg, for tomatoes - 0.96-2.03 euro/kg.
