Russia: situation on the juice market

According to data of Russian juice market monitoring, in 2008, volume of juice market in actual measurements totaled 2.1 billion litres that is down 45 %, compared to the previous year. The main reasons of this situation are imposition of duties for juice raw material imports, increase of dollar course at the end of 2008 and customers' change over from juices to soft drinks.

In cost measurements, volume of Russian juice market totaled 1.89 billion euro that is down 40 %, compared to 2007.

These facts are evidences of crisis situation in juice segment, but at the moment there are ways of crisis overcoming. For example, producers redirected production facilities from natural juices to juice containing beverages and soft drinks.
