Ukraine: imports of exotic fruits in December

According to official statistics, in December, 2008, imports of oranges decreased by 53 %, compared to the same month of 2007 and totaled 11.400 tonnes. Volume of tangerine imports totaled 43.300 tonnes, of grapefruit - 1.200 tonnes that is down 30 % and 37 % respectively, compared to the last year indexes. Imports of bananas decreased by 18 % and totaled 23.000 tonnes.

During the reporting period, 5.200 tonnes of lemons were imported to Ukraine that is up 27 %, compared to the previous year.
