"Kiev will have to buy bread grain abroad" - Kiev Mayor

Mayor of Kiev Olexandr Omelchenko declared that already in May or June the city of Kiev would have to buy wheat for bread-baking abroad.

"We've sold our grain for a song and now will have to buy dearer. Does a good manager act like this?" the Mayor said on Saturday at a meeting of local and regional authorities.

Ukraine last imported milling grain because of shortage of its own in spring 2001.
