Kozachenko case disrupts image of Ukraine and trust of world community - Ukrainian business union

The criminal case of ex-Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Kozachenko has a significant impact upon the authority of Ukraine and trust of world's community to the country, posing doubts whether Ukraine is a right place for investments, which are so much needed by the country's farming sector, President of Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Anatoly Kinakh said in an interview.

He considers Kozachenko to be "a present-day, business-oriented person, who has concentrated his effort on creation of competitive farm complex in the country and establishment of present-day market infrastructure, without which it is not possible to win in today's harsh competition on the world's agricultural markets".

Kinakh said the Union would do its best to provide for transparency in investigation of Kozachenko's case and to ensure his reliable legal protection in conformity with legislation of Ukraine.
