State Reserve will represent state in the grains market - Prime Minister

State Reserve will be working on grains market on behalf of the state, Ukraine's Prime Minister Victor Yanukovych said at the opening of Exhibition "Agro-2003" near Kiev. Answering a question about which of State Reserve or State Joint Stock Company "Khleb Ukrainy" will be the state agent in grains market, he said: "Primarily, the State Reserve".

He said the state would be an active participant of agricultural market, playing the role of both buyer and seller. The main role in the decision-making process concerning sales/purchase of agricultural products, including grains, would be played by market mechanisms.

"Grain will be sold or purchased, if this is lucrative", he said.
