Ukraine allocated $60.4 million for developing agrarian market and overcoming consequences of elements

The government of Ukraine has entrusted the Ministry of agrarian policy to direct 322 million hryvnias from budgetary funds for price reduction of credits of business banks for landowners, formation of the State reserve seed stock and partial indemnification of cost of the electric power used for irrigation.

It is stipulated by the decree of the Cabinet №923 from June, 19.

According to this document 270 million hryvnias from the indicated sum will be directed for that price reduction of the credits received in current year that have delay of payment till October, 1, 2004 and also for target credits for purchase of seeds, dressers and mineral fertilizers for sowing winter crops.

The right for delay of payment of credits was received by farms that have suffered from natural disasters. The mechanism of price reduction of credits is extended to credits under the rate not much than 21% annually. Price reduction will make 16 %. The fixed payments under credits are introduced till December, 31, 2003 for all term of their use.

This mechanism also is extended to the new credit agreements signed till November, 15 of current year with a maturity date not earlier than on October, 1, 2004.

The government will direct 20 million hryvnias for formation of the State reserve seed stock, and 32 million hryvnias for partial indemnification of the cost of the electric power used for irrigation.

As it was informed the budget financing of the agriculture sector in the current year has been increased by 576 million hryvnias in view of difficult situation because of adverse weather conditions.

The government of Ukraine is also going to allocate 70 million hryvnias to State committee on management of state material reserve for intervention purchases of a grain of 2003 year crop.
