Russian government prolonged licensing term for poultry imports

According to department of governmental information, the government of Russia signed on June 19 the decree that prolongs the term of licensing for imports of poultry for the next three months.

For the first three month there have been issued licenses for imports of 535,000 tonnes of poultry, which makes 76 percent of the overall quota. Russia plans to import this year within the quota a total of 744,000 tonnes of poultry. In particular, the quota is divided among three countries, whereby the share of the US is 553,500 tonnes, that of the EU is 139,900 tonnes and that of Brazil - 33,300 tonnes.

Meanwhile, the advisory council on monitoring imports of meat to Russian Federation suggests cancelling the division of the quota by countries.
