President dismissed deputy state secretary for agriculture
President Leonid Kuchma has signed an order about dismissal from office of the Deputy State Secretary of Ukraine for the Ministry of Agrarian Policy Roman Schmidt.
The Cabinet of Ministers by its decision of July 24, 2003 recommended to dismiss Roman Schmidt from office, as well as heads of state administrations in some regions. The decision was connected with the recently burst crisis in the country's food market and rush demand for some agricultural products.
Fifty-two year old Roman Schmidt was holding this position since August 2001. Before that he worked as Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy and was a member of the Parliamentary Committee for Agriculture and Land Relationships.
