Weather conditions effects onto potato harvest in Ukraine
According to www.fruit-inform.com, state of potato plantations in most Ukrainian farms is estimated by producers to be satisfactory. As to messages from the Western regions of the country where virtually the major potato production is based, there are relatively advantageous weather conditions forming; and as to farmers' preliminary estimates, potato harvest is expected to be not lower than the past year.
Meanwhile the producers from the Eastern and some Central regions inform of fatal effects of drought. Producers of Sumska and Chernigovska regions expect losses of average potato cultivars within 40-50%. This is expected in some regions of the Eastern part of Ukraine.
