Committee for state reserve held third grain purchase tender
Ukraine's Committee for State Reserve on August 14 purchased 1.166 million tonnes of this year crop grain at a tender, the Committee's press-service has informed. Milling wheat Class 3 was bought in the amount of 1.050 million tonnes at a price of 900 to 950 hryvnias per tonne; wheat Class 4 - in the amount of 73,600 tonnes at 820 to 900 hryvnias per tonne, group A rye - 26,700 tonnes at 500 to 550 hryvnias per tonne (5.33 hryvnias = $1). The Committee has also bought 6,000 tonnes of food barley at 650 to 660 hryvnias per tonne and 10,000 tonnes of 1st class rice at 900 hryvnias per tonne.
On August 9 the law came into force, stipulating allocation to the Committee of 400 million hryvnias exclusively for purchases of Ukrainian-origin grains. The Committee is also allowed selling 200,000 tonnes of grains from its permanent stock to be subsequently restored.
The next tender is planned to be held in early September.
