Russia increases imports of apple juice concentrate from China

According to information of analysts from Fruit-Inform, Russia recently increased purchases of apple juice concentrate. While all major importers of Chinese apple juice concentrate decreased purchases in the first half of 2010, Russia was the only country to increase imports of apple juice concentrate from China. Within the first six months of 2010, market of the Russian Federation was supplied with 44,000 tonnes of apple juice concentrate from China that is by 10% higher than in the same period of the last year.

According to opinion of experts from Fruit-Inform, Russian juice producers try to avoid further decreasing of demand for their produce. That's why they choose the cheapest options of raw purchases replying to changes in structure of consumer demand. Other factor of increase in purchases of apple juice concentrate from China is expected decrease of apple production in Russia in 2010, and sharp growth of prices for industrial apples already taken place.
