Fruit and vegetable inflation in Russia with respect to the last year has already reached 54%

Fruit and vegetable index of Fruit-Inform shows that cost of fruit and vegetable basket of a Russian consumer in the mid November was averagely by 54% higher than in the same period of the last year. As to information of analysts of Fruit-Inform, prices for vegetables in Russia are at the record-breaking high level for this period of year.

The largest increase of prices was registered for traditional vegetables and potatoes. Their main set was up in price by 141% comparatively with the last year! Glass-grown vegetables were averagely by 26% higher in price than a year before, fruits – only by 5% higher. A record-breaking increase of prices comparatively with the last year was registered for cabbage and potatoes – 2.5-fold. Prices for lemons and glass-grown cucumbers fell. Fruits and vegetables keep on increasing in cost in Russia. Within the last week, prices for fruit and vegetable produce grew averagely by 5%. All main categories of fruits and vegetables were increasing in price.
