Rating of Ukraine's supermarkets according to quality of fresh fruit and vegetable departments

Fruit and vegetable departments of Ukraine in most cases remain “a territory of disgrace”, though they are one of the most important and profitable in majority of countries in the world. A high-quality fruit and vegetable department is well known to attract a rich buyer that results in increase of sales in other departments.

Which of Ukraine's chains is the most successful in dealing with fruits and vegetables? Which store is the most concerned about offered fruit and vegetable produce? Which chain has the best potential of development? Rating of chains according to quality of fruit and vegetable department will be presented in course of work of the seventh international conference “Vegetables and Fruit of Ukraine-2010”. This event is to take place at National Complex “Expocenter of Ukraine”, Kiev, Ukraine, on December 1-2, 2010.

Presentation of rating of chains and separate stores according to different criteria will be conducted in course of forum of purchasers “Fruit and vegetable retail”. Ratings will be based on a special study being conducted by the Project “Fruit-Inform” with the support of Ukrainian project on fresh fruit and vegetable produce of IFC (World Bank Group) and some other partners.

In addition to ratings, program of the forum includes master-class from Kirill Novak, one of leading experts of the sector. This master-class is conducted for suppliers of chains and deals with an issue of what opportunities are missed by them nowadays. Also the forum includes presentation of Fedor Rybalko, specialist of the Project of IFC, covering a present situation of fruit and vegetable retail. Materials of presentations and communication to leading experts of the sector will enable all fruit and vegetable market participants interested in dealing with chains to increase efficiency of this activity and organize it in the right way.
