Kiev faced sharp decrease of prices for imported cucumbers
According to information of Fruit-Inform Project, imported cucumbers produced in Turkey sharply decreased in price in Ukraine. These cucumbers were offered at UAH 10-11/kg (EUR 0.95-1.05/kg) at wholesale depots, while, in the last week, prices for them were not lower than UAH 12-13/kg (EUR 1.14-1.24/kg).
It should be noted that prices for cucumbers decreased averagely by 13% in Ukraine during the last week. Supply of domestic cucumbers also increased. Notwithstanding low prices for imported produce, Ukrainian cucumbers are also well being sold wholesale, and prices for them reach UAH 17/kg (EUR 1.62/kg). At the same time, as to analysts' opinion, this week, prices for Ukrainian produce will also decrease.
As of today, Turkish suppliers offer smooth-skinned cucumbers, as well as pimply ones. Smooth-skinned cucumbers are sold at minimum prices, and pimply ones are only by UAH 2-3/kg (EUR 0.19-0.29/kg) lower in price than Ukrainian cucumbers.
