Fruit and veg produce prices increased by 1% in Ukraine over a week

Fruit and vegetable index of Fruit-Inform Project shows the cost of Ukrainian consumers' fruit and vegetable basket increased by 1% over the last week after 4% increase a week earlier. In such a way, price increase trends are remaining in the country.

Greenhouse vegetables, particularly cucumbers grown in price by 18% at once, were the main reason of price increase. And even slight decrease of tomato prices could not compensate this.

Fruit basket decreased in price by 1%, borsch vegetable (onion, cabbage, beet, carrot) prices remained stable. Among fruits, lemons and mandarins became cheaper, bananas grew in price slightly.

More detailed information about price prospects for borsch vegetables (onions, cabbages, beets, carrots) will be available at the third international conference “Potato and Vegetables of Ukraine-2011”.

This event is to take place at Shuvar wholesale market, Lvov, Ukraine, February 24-25, 2011. On-line registration is available through this link.
