1.14 bln euro to be Ukraine's potato production value in the current season
According to estimates of Andriy Yarmak, Head of Fruit-Inform Project, Ukraine's potato producers will gain record-breaking 1.14 bln euro from the current season's ex-farm sales of potatoes. This sum includes the production value of both seed and ware potatoes, as well as of potatoes for processing. The fresh potato production value is estimated to be 778 mln euro.
“In such a way, there are solid investment resources of approximately 412 mln euro having been accumulated in Ukraine's potato industry for last 2 years. This is the estimated net profits of potato producers that, we hope, will enable our country's potato industry to be brought up to the new higher-quality standards”, Mr. Yarmak says.
