Ukraine received first 12,500 t of milling wheat from Russia

As of September 29 Ukraine received 12,500 tonnes of milling wheat from Russia, Diplomatic Adviser for the Embassy of Russian Federation in Ukraine Aleksey Sazonov has told a TV programme on Ukraine's first national channel.

"The loading out of grain contracted in accordance with intergovernmental agreements is currently underway", Sazonov said. He said these were only the first shipments out of the 166,000 tonnes that would be supplied to Ukraine from the State Reserve of Russia.

He also voiced an opinion that exports of Russian grain to Ukraine were going to be intensified in the nearest time.

According to intergovernmental agreement, Russia gave consent to sell to Ukraine 166,000 tonnes of grain from its State Reserve at a price of $110 per tonne on EXW basis from elevators. Besides, Presidents of Ukraine and Russia have agreed upon supply to Ukraine of up to 1 million tonnes of milling grain in this marketing year (July 2003 to June 2004), UNIAN news agency informed.
