Prices for early apples continuing to decrease in Ukraine
According to Fruit-Inform Project, the Ukrainian market experiences gradual reduction of prices for early apples. For the present, they are supplied mainly from the southern part of the country (Crimea, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Zaporizhya) and offered in producing regions at UAH 2-6/kg (EUR 0.18-0.53/kg) depending on variety, size and quality.
Last week prices for early apples slightly decreased. However, the majority of producers reported of the demand for apples remaining relatively low. Moreover, early apple production in the southern regions of Ukraine is slightly lower than last year due to cold weather not favoring pollination during the blossoming period.
We would remind you that the first in the CIS international conference “Apple Business of Ukraine, Russia and Moldova - 2011” will take place at Stolychnyi Wholesale Market (the largest wholesale market of Ukraine), Kiev, Ukraine, August 11, 2011.
As of today, their participation has been already confirmed by more than 200 representatives of the apple business from 12 countries of the world.
