Ukraine. Yields of everbearing raspberries surpass all expectations

According to Fruit-Inform's analysts, the yields of everbearing raspberries surpassed all expectations of Ukrainian market participants. Thanks to warm weather in autumn, gardeners from most regions of Ukraine keep on harvesting of everbearing (autumn) varieties of raspberries. As a result, current wholesale prices are already 10-15% lower than in summer. Moreover, the quality of berries is quite high: fruits are clean and sweet. However, those producers who grow raspberries without irrigation get smaller harvests due to dry weather.

The success of autumn raspberry campaign helped gardeners growing both summer and autumn varieties partially compensate a relatively unsuccessful summer raspberry campaign. The summer campaign was marked by a rainy weather which resulted in berries either having fell off, or having been sold for processing into juices or jams at low prices. Berries were not suitable for sales in the fresh market because of higher humidity.
