Russia: sugar beet harvest progress Nov. 18

According to the Chief Computing Centre with Russian Agriculture Ministry, as of November 18 this year sugar beet in the country was harvested from a total of 861,140 hectares (92.9 percent of sown area). The farmers obtained 19,774,020 tonnes of the roots (in 2002 as of the same date - 14.646 million tonnes) at a yield of 22.96 tonnes per hectare ( in 2002 - 21.27 tonnes per ha), sugar industry association Soyuzrossakhar has informed.
