Ukraine negotiating US loan for grain purchases

According to UNIAN news agency, negotiations are currently in progress between US Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst and representatives of Ukraine's Finance Ministry and other state authorities about granting a credit for grain purchases to our country, Ukraine's Vice-Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance Mykola Azarov has told reporters today.

Azarov did not specify the type of the credit to be granted. He said it could be both money and commodity credit.

He assured that the traders who had already supplied grain to Ukraine would be in a loss, thus preventing the traders' discontent in connection with the US credit.

The American Ambassador earlier stated the readiness of US government to grant Ukraine a credit for purchase of American wheat (see news item on this site of November 11).
