Grain silos repaired in Nikolaev seaport

Grain elevator in Nikolaev seaport has completed a 1 million hryvnia (about $188,000) project for repair of 17 grain silos out of 144 such installations it possesses, Context-Media agency has reported with reference to the Director of Elevator Mykhaylo Popovych.

The repairs were made due to high degree of wear of the installations.

Also, the elevator has changed this year two closed-type chain conveyors and three weighers out of six.

The elevator provides transhipment of export and transit grain and sunflower seeds onto marine vessels. The loading facility in Nikolaev seaport is able to serve vessels with up to 9.2-metre gauge and 25,000 tonnes of replacement. It is a state-owned enterprise with rated transhipment capacity of up to 1 million tonnes of grain per year.
