Kazakhstan to buy 2.478 mln t of 2004 crop grain into state resources

According to a resolution of government, Kazakhstan intends to buy 2,478,317 tonnes of 2004 crop grain into the state resources, web-server Gazeta.kz has informed.

According to the resolution, it is planned to buy up to 478,320 tonnes of grain for the sum of 6.208 billion tenges ($1 = 140 tenges), allocated from the state budget. Thus, it will be bought 199,000 tonnes of soft milling wheat at 13,320 tenges per tonne for the total sum of 2.651 billion tenges of spring/summer instalment. 30,000 tonnes of hard milling wheat at 14,800 tenges per tonne will be bought for the total sum of 444 million tenges. By way of direct purchase in autumn 2004 the government will buy 214,320 tonnes of soft varieties of wheat at 13,320 tenges per tonne for the sum of 2.855 billion tenges and 35,000 tonnes of 2nd class barley at 7,400 tenges per tonne for the sum of 259 million tenges.

Besides, the government has recommended CJSC "Food Contract Corporation" to make additional state purchases of wheat and other agricultural commodities in the amount of 2 million tonnes, wich is to be financed from credit resources, drawn in for the purpose.
