Ukrainian producers losing their hope to export apples
The Ukrainian apple sales situation is more and more pessimistic for producers. Further attempts to reduce prices have had no expected effect: the internal market is still stagnating, while exporters' activity remains flat.
Under those conditions, farmers had no choice but to store all their apples. At the same time, a hope of higher prices in winter is weakening day by day. Moreover, such a policy is adhered also in Russia and Poland, therefore the competition in the market will remain high till the end of the season that limits prospects of higher prices and exports.
We would remind you that in the second half of September ex-farm prices of winter apples in Ukraine were 10-15% lower year-on-year.
