Uzbekistan increases pear exports to Kazakhstan

In the first 2 months of the season 2012/13, Uzbekistan exported 932 tonnes of pears to Kazakhstan that was almost 40% higher year-on-year.

Uzbekistan was the second biggest supplier of pears to Kazakhstan in the past 2 seasons being behind only Kyrgyzstan. The two countries account for the share of up to 80% in Kazakhstan's total pear imports.

In the season 2011/12, Uzbekistan exported about 1,800 tonnes of pears to Kazakhstan that was 39% lower year-on-year. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan increased its exports to this destination 2.5 times.
