Stable exports of Ukrainian frozen fruits and berries
According to State Statistics Service of Ukraine, from July to October this year, the country exported more than 13,400 tonnes of frozen fruits and berries that was almost the same year-on-year. The share of frozen blueberries in total exports amounted to 72%. Ukrainian frozen blackberries and sour cherries were in good demand too.
Poland, Italy, Germany and Sweden were the main importers of Ukrainian frozen fruits and berries in the mentioned period with their aggregate share in total exports amounting to 62%.
As regards Ukrainian frozen vegetable exports, they totaled 2,400 tonnes that was 19% higher year-on-year.
The demand for frozen produce has recently grown also in the Ukrainian internal market due to cold weather and Christmas fast, with wholesale companies, retail chains and confectionery factories as the main purchasers. As regards internal prices, they are stable year-on-year.
