Citrus prices may sharply grow in Ukraine before New Year
According to Fruit-Inform, heavy gale in the Black sea may lead to a sharp increase in citrus prices in Ukraine.
Extreme weather conditions complicate shipping citrus fruits by sea and lead to revision of Turkish exporters' shipments schedule. According to meteorologists, on December 20, Thursday, the storm in the Black Sea reached force 7 with wind gusting to 25-28 m per sec and wave height reaching 3-5 m in some areas.
“In view of irregular citrus shipments, prices of these fruits may sharply grow in the Ukrainian market”, said Ms. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform. “Higher prices will also be favored by citrus consumption activity peaking during New Year holidays”.
