Armenia's grape exports to Russia up
Armenia's grape exports to Russia have grown 2.3 times since the start of this season compared with the same period of the previous year. Moreover, exports in the period from July to November have already exceeded the total 2011/12 result by 26%.
According to Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation, Armenia exported almost 8,100 tonnes of grapes to Russia in the mentioned period. The highest export volumes were registered from September to November: 92% of total exports to the Russian Federation, or 6,400 tonnes.
An increase in exports is connected with higher production of grapes in Armenia. As Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia has recently reported, this year's good grape crop was favored by auspicious weather conditions and larger area under bearing vineyards.
