Russia: stable imports of Egyptian grapes

According to Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation, Russia has already imported 3,100 tonnes of Egyptian grapes in the season 2012/13 that is almost the same year-on-year.

It should be noted that main imports from Egypt are traditionally registered in summer. In such a way, the final results will be available only in June. For example, in the season 2011/12, Russia imported 6,000 tonnes of these fruits from Egypt with 51% of imports registered in the beginning of the season, and 49% - in June.

According to the official statistics, in the previous season, Russia's imports of Egyptian grapes were record high over the past decade.
