Chinese pear exports to Russia up
In January 2013, Russia imported 3,700 tonnes of Chinese pears, an increase of 60% year-on-year. For comparison, Chinese pear exports in January 2012 amounted to 1,500 tonnes, the lowest result over the past 5 years.
A year-on-year increase in China's exports enabled the country to improve its position among Russia's pear trade partner countries. China ranked just fifth in pear exports to the Russian Federation in January 2012. This year, the country became the fourth largest supplier.
