Kazakhstan increases apple imports
Kazakhstan imported 15,000 tonnes of apples in January 2013, an increase of 41% from the same month of last year, the record high result for this month over the past 4 years. For comparison, in January 2012, the country imported just 10,700 tonnes of these fruits.
On a month-on-month basis, Kazakhstan raised apple imports by 6%: imports in December 2012 reached 14,100 tonnes.
Poland, Kyrgyzstan and China were the main apple exporters to Kazakhstan in January this year.
