Poor currant season in Poland
Purchase prices of blackcurrants are still low in Poland and do not defray production and harvesting expenses. In addition, currant production is lower year-on-year in the country.
In the beginning of the season, blackcurrants were offered at 0.39-0.42 euro/kg. Current prices average 0.30-0.32 euro/kg with maximum level reaching 0.35 euro/kg. Redcurrants are sold at 0.28-0.30 euro/kg.
