Lower table grape prices in Ukraine

A seasonal growth in supply of table grapes led to a significant decrease in their prices in the Ukrainian market.

Current table grape prices vary between UAH 4-12/kg (EUR 0.38-1.13/kg), depending on variety, while a week earlier table grapes were shipped at no lower than UAH 8-17/kg (EUR 0.75-1.60/kg). Growers say of low demand for produce, which forces them to keep on reducing prices in view of abundant supply in the market.

For the present, early and middle-early varieties such as Arcadia, Kodryanka and Strashenskiy account for the largest share in the market.

In the same period of last year table grape prices varied between UAH 5-15/kg (EUR 0.47-1.41/kg).

We would remind you that more detailed information about the Ukrainian table grape market developments and outlook will be presented during the International Exhibition-Conference “Golden Bunch of Grapes – 2013”, which is to take place in Simferopol, Ukraine, August 22-24, 2013.
