Kazakhstan's grape imports significantly down
Kazakhstan has significantly lowered imports of grapes in the beginning of the season 2013/14, according to the official statistics.
In August 2013, Kazakhstan imported just 4,000 tons of grapes, a decrease of 80% year-on-year. For comparison, Kazakhstan's grape imports reached 20,000 tons in August last year, the highest level in August ever.
Cumulative imports in July-August 2013 fell by 76% to 6,000 tons. We would remind you that in the first two months of the season 2012/13 Kazakhstan imported record high 25,000 tons of grapes.
Uzbekistan traditionally led in exports to Kazakhstan with the share of 83% in Kazakhstan's total grape imports.
