Pear prices grow in southern regions of Ukraine

According to Fruit-Inform price monitoring, pear prices have been growing at Krymskiy Privoz (Simferopol, Crimea) and Kopani (Kherson) Wholesale Markets.

For the present, pears in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea are the most expensive in the country. Their prices average UAH 16.50/kg (EUR 1.52/kg), an increase of 10% from the previous week and also 10% higher year-on-year.

As regards Kopani Market, pear prices have grown there by 38% week-on-week and stands at UAH 11/kg (EUR 1.01/kg), which is 10% from the same period of the previous season.

At the same time, pear prices at Stolychnyi Wholesale Market (Kiev) did not change compared with the previous week and averages UAH 12/kg (EUR 1.11/kg). Furthermore, on a year-on-year basis, pear prices in Kiev decreased by 20% year-on-year.

The least expensive pears are sold at Shuvar Wholesale Market (Lviv, western region): prices average UAH 6/kg (EUR 0.55/kg), which, nevertheless, is 20% higher compared with last year.
